Serenity was settled in 1798 by puritans. Set in the foothills of Appalachia, Serenity has seen more than its fair share of blood and death. In 1799, The puritans drove out the indigenous peoples of the land through blood thanks to the backing of the U.S. government. In 1825, a woman named Barbara Mimms was tried and convicted as a witch in front of the town in the public square. After her conviction, she disappeared in front of onlookers. Barbara had a secret, she was an actual witch, and she knew she would be caught but not before she performed rituals at five cemeteries in the outskirts of the town. These rituals placed a curse on Serenity and the people who convicted and later killed her by fire. She had spoken a curse that is said to have cursed any child born within the town to carry a supernatural gift, ones she had possessed herself. She had done this with the intention to turn the townsfolk on one another and breed out the puritans from the town’s gene pool.

These five ancient cemeteries, Blackshire, Cobbled, Mimms, Severs, and Greens which just so happen to form a pentagram in which Serenity sits in the middle. She was caught at the final ritual site Mimms cemetery by the townsfolk, where she was tied to a wooden cross where she was set on fire in order to purify the town. The facts of the matter are that her curse worked, and every child born to this day within the town was given one of Barbara’s special gifts terrifying the settlers and other townsfolk that lived in Serenity until every living being in the town had a gift and made Barbara the only witch ever executed in town history.

If this wasn’t enough, we are surrounded by the Appalachian mountains that are home to cryptids such as Sasquatch, SWs, the Rake, the Dogman, and Werewolves. This unique town in the foothills are not for the faint of heart, but for those of us who believe in everything that is paranormal.
